Be smart - Moving Forward

Following announcements at press conference held on 26 November 2021

From 25 September onwards, all major events, festivals, celebrations, trade shows, conferences, business events and concerts will be allowed to be held, with the restrictions listed below becoming applicable on Sunday, 28 November at 5:00 a.m. These measures will remain in effect until 18 December 2021. The situation will be reassessed on Tuesday, 14 December 2021.

  • Events may be organised and held between 5:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
  • The wearing of masks and keeping a distance of 1.5 metres is mandatory.
  • A corona check will be carried out at the entrance to the exhibition halls and conference rooms. Visitors 13 years and older attending all events including those held at flow-through locations* must present their Covid certificate in combination with a valid ID card or passport in or order to enter. After this corona check, keeping a distance of 1.5 metres and wearing a mask will still be required.
  • Assigned seating is mandatory at events. Visitors may remove their masks once they are seated.
  • A maximum of one-third of the normal venue capacity may be used.
  • For flow-through locations* (such as trade shows), the maximum is one person per 5 m2.
  • For multi-day events, the Covid certificate will be checked daily.

* Flow-through locations: flow-through is defined as a situation in which people are only present in the same space for brief periods of time, and there is actual flow/movement, such as that occurring at a trade show or fair.

  • If you have symptoms, please stay home and get tested immediately;
  • Keep a 1.5-metre distance from others;
  • Wash your hands often;
  • Cough and sneeze into your elbow.
  • Don’t shake hands with anyone;
  • Make sure indoor spaces get plenty of fresh air.

Covid and travelling to the Netherlands
Check the checklist for travelling to the Netherlands during Covid before you travel (back) to the Netherlands. You may need special documents such as proof of vaccination or a test or quarantine certificate. Check the current measures here:

We will naturally provide you with a new update of the measures that will be in force after the next press conference. On 14 December 2021, the government will re-evaluate the situation and determine whether additional restrictions are necessary.
