Max Verstappen's Formula 1 car at InterClassics Maastricht from 8 to 11 September 2022

Maastricht, 8 December 2021 - The 28th edition of InterClassics Maastricht has been definitively rescheduled to a new date. From 8 to 11 September 2022, classic car enthusiasts can once again enjoy the most exclusive cars at MECC Maastricht. The classic car fair also welcomes a really special car: The Red Bull RB16B Formula 1 car of Max Verstappen. The fair is dedicated to 'Dutch Grand Prix Classics' and exhibits legendary F1 cars from Zandvoort's racing history. Clearly, Max Verstappen's racing car is a must after his win on Dutch soil. When the Abu Dhabi race weekend is over, the car may also be the one with which Verstappen became the very first Dutch F1 world champion ever!

Rescheduled to September 2022
In the light of the Coronavirus situation, the organisation believed it would be irresponsible to allow the fair to take place in January. However, rescheduling to another weekend proved to be a difficult choice. The new date for the InterClassics Maastricht was originally set to coincide with the first edition of the InterClassics Youngtimer Show. This fair focuses on the classics of the future with cars from the 1980s to 2010s. So, by necessity, the fair will be delayed by one year. The theme that kicks off the InterClassics Youngtimer Show is Group B and Group 4. For many, this is synonymous with the heyday of international rallying. These racing classes produced four years of nerve-racking rallies. And more than anything, produced some iconic (street) cars. The Audi Quattro, Lancia Delta Integrale, and Renault 5 Turbo are the best-known examples.

Red Bull RB16B, the eye-catcher of InterClassics Maastricht
After the week after the Formula 1 at Zandvoort was flagged to finish, racing fans can satisfy their hunger at MECC Maastricht. InterClassics Maastricht will look back on the highlights of the history of the Dutch Grand Prix. The real eye-catcher is the Red Bull Formula 1 car of Max Verstappen. It allowed the number 33 driver to break the hegemony of Lewis Hamilton in his 'Silberpfeil' and keep it exciting until the very last race. The RB16B is a further development of the Red Bull F1 car from the 2020 season but with a completely redesigned engine. The 900-HP Honda block has propelled Verstappen to victory nine times this season… a record for the Dutchman! The RB16B will be accompanied by various F1 cars from home and abroad and will give visitors a unique insight into Zandvoort's racing history.
